YOU DON’T NEED THE PERFECT WORDS

A few questions can save a trip.

  • Are you providing groceries or meals right now, and when should I come?
  • Do I need an appointment, referral, identification or proof of address?
  • Is there a cost or suggested donation? What if I cannot pay?
  • Can someone collect food for me, or is another location closer to my community?

Programs can work differently.

A benefits application is a different process from visiting a pantry or meal service. Ask the organization which option fits your situation and whether another provider can help while you wait. Do not assume every service has the same eligibility rules.
